Library Podcasts

I have listened to podcasts from several libraries and I feel that if sitting in front of a PC to listen they need to be 3 minutes or less in duration. After about 3 minutes my attention wanders to the extent that I am following the time-line instead of listening to the content. For one that is intended to be heard on an ipod whilst walking around the library (like a tour) could be a little longer - up to 5 minutes. I like the bright, eye-catching link to podcasts on the Curtin University Library home page.
Short video clips seem to me the way to go if accessing at a desktop computer as you then have something to look at as well as to listen.

Podcasting, Videos etc

I checked out YouTube and found it quite confusing at first. Even after I found some that interested me it was a bit too easy to become distracted and not be able to find my way back to the starting point. This makes me think that if you especially want your friends to see your videos you would need to give them a direct link rather than just tell them to look for it on YouTube.
